Skype Fixes Security Loophole

A few days ago, we reported about the security risks that Skype users faced with their personal data. Apparently, the data that Skype users often stored locally on their Android devices was at risk, if they downloaded malicious third party apps.

Looking at the crucial nature of the problem, Skype got down to work soon after and has now, come up with a fix in the latest version of the Android app. The app now blocks any third party, malicious application from gaining access into the user’s private data. In addition to this, Skype now, also enables 3G calling as against its previous feature where VOIP calls could made solely using Wi-Fi connections over Skype servers.

iOS users may be familiar with this feature introduced by Skype, since for them it was available a year ago. However, it is only now that Android users are being provided with the facility.
